A53 Gr.B Carbon Steel Pipe

ASTM A53 Grade B is a widely used carbon steel pipe covering both seamless and welded construction. It features stable mechanical properties with a minimum tensile strength of 415 MPa and a minimum yield strength of 240 MPa, providing good rigidity, ductility and structural stability for general industrial service. A53 Gr.B pipe is suitable for medium and low-pressure fluid transmission, including water, gas, air and conventional oil pipelines at normal and moderate temperatures. It offers excellent weldability and formability, allowing easy cutting, bending, threading and on-site fabrication. With strictly controlled chemical composition and low impurity content, the pipe delivers reliable pressure resistance and consistent quality for long-term operation. Cost-effective and versatile, ASTM A53 Gr.B is the preferred material for general plumbing, structural piping and utility systems. Carbon steel is an iron-carbon alloy, which contains up to 2.1 wt.% carbon. For carbon steels, there is no minimum specified content of other alloying elements, however, they often contain manganese. The maximum manganese, silicon and copper content should be less than 1.65 wt.%, 0.6 wt.% and 0.6 wt.%, respectively.
